Terms of Use
KeyHunter Private Beta · Effective date August 21, 2026 · Terms version 2026-08-21-beta-v1
These Terms of Use govern your access to the KeyHunter private beta at thekeyhunter.com. By creating an account or continuing to use KeyHunter, you agree to them. These are operational beta documents prepared by the operator; they are not attorney-approved and are not a guarantee of legal compliance.
Who operates KeyHunter
KeyHunter is operated by Jesse Kelly, an individual located in Oklahoma, United States.
- General and support: support@thekeyhunter.com
- Privacy requests: privacy@thekeyhunter.com
- Legal notices: legal@thekeyhunter.com
Private beta eligibility
- KeyHunter is currently invitation-only.
- It is offered only to people located in the United States who are 18 or older.
- The beta is free unless KeyHunter explicitly states otherwise before a charge applies.
- KeyHunter may restrict, suspend, or end beta access, or end the beta entirely, at any time.
You confirm your eligibility yourself when you create an account. KeyHunter does not collect precise location to verify it.
Beta software
KeyHunter is experimental private-beta software. It may contain bugs, experience outages, change without notice, misidentify collectibles, contain incomplete or incorrect catalog data, and lose information or require you to correct it. Keep your own independent records of anything important to you, and export your collection to CSV periodically. KeyHunter does not promise uptime, permanent availability, or error-free operation.
What KeyHunter does
KeyHunter is a private collection-management platform. Today it can:
- store your private collectible holdings and photographs;
- organise holdings into Vaults and track wanted items on a Hunt List;
- show portfolio information built from what you entered;
- record your own purchase price and your own estimated value;
- offer AI-assisted identification from photographs (Scan and Bulk Scan);
- match records to catalog metadata;
- track comic Run completion and trading-card Set completion;
- extract whiskey metadata from label photographs;
- produce deterministic Collection Intelligence from your own structured data.
KeyHunter is not a marketplace. No sale, purchase, brokering, shipping, delivery or payment for collectibles happens through KeyHunter. This includes whiskey: whiskey support is record-keeping only. KeyHunter does not sell, ship, deliver, broker or facilitate the purchase of alcohol.
AI-assisted identification
- AI-assisted identification may be inaccurate or incomplete.
- You are responsible for reviewing every scan result before relying on it or saving it.
- A “catalog verified” or matched record means only that a KeyHunter record was matched to catalog metadata. It is not proof that a physical collectible is genuine.
KeyHunter does not provide:
- professional authentication or authenticity guarantees;
- professional grading or certified condition assessment;
- professional appraisal;
- financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Values you enter
Purchase prices and estimated values in KeyHunter are entered by you unless a feature clearly identifies a figure as coming from another source. KeyHunter does not currently provide automatic market valuation. Portfolio value is not a professional appraisal, estimated value does not represent fair market value or guarantee resale proceeds, and unrealized gain or loss is not investment advice.
Collection Intelligence
Collection Intelligence is calculated deterministically from your own data — your holdings, catalog relationships, Runs and Sets, Hunt List and Vaults. It is not market, valuation, pricing or investment advice.
Your content and the licence you grant
You keep ownership of the content you provide — collectible photographs, notes, collection information and feedback — subject to any rights you already hold in it.
You grant KeyHunter a non-exclusive licence, limited to operating, securing and improving the service and subject to the Privacy Policy, to host, store, reproduce as technically required, process, transmit to authorised service providers, analyse for collectible identification, display privately back to you, secure, back up and troubleshoot that content. KeyHunter does not sell your photographs and does not turn your private holding photographs into shared or public catalog images.
Your responsibilities
You must have the right to upload the content you submit. You must not use KeyHunter for:
- unlawful activity or fraud;
- attacks or security testing without written authorisation;
- abusive automated usage or circumventing scan limits;
- attempting to access another collector's data;
- malware;
- intentionally poisoning shared catalog or market information;
- violating third-party intellectual-property rights.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security of your account credentials and for activity under your account. KeyHunter may suspend access where needed to protect the service, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a security concern.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Active account information is deleted according to KeyHunter's deletion process. Limited residual information may temporarily remain where necessary for backups, security, fraud prevention or legal obligations, but it is not restored as an active account.
Third-party services
KeyHunter depends on third-party infrastructure and service providers, including hosting, authentication, database and storage, AI processing, and catalog or reference data providers. Those services are operated by others and are not controlled by KeyHunter. See the Data Sources & Attribution page and the Privacy Policy for details.
Do not rely on the beta alone
Independently verify anything important. KeyHunter should not be your only record for insurance documentation, proof of ownership, tax records, high-value appraisal or authenticity certification.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KeyHunter is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost collection value arising from your use of the beta. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This beta version does not include a mandatory arbitration clause or a class-action waiver.
Age requirements
The private beta requires you to be 18 or older. Whiskey cataloguing additionally requires confirming you are 21 or older. That confirmation relates to alcohol-related content and record-keeping only — using KeyHunter is not an alcohol purchase. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to owning, storing, transporting or disposing of the items you catalogue.
Founding Collector terms
- There are exactly 25 Founding Collector positions. When all 25 are assigned, the program is closed and no number beyond 25 exists.
- A position is assigned automatically to the first 25 qualifying real collectors. Qualification currently occurs after 5 saved collectibles. Operator and administrator accounts are excluded.
- Your Founding Collector number is permanent and personal to your account. Numbers are not recycled or reissued if an account is deleted, and a number is not a reservation, a queue place or a transferable asset.
- The benefit: Founding Collectors receive a $0 subscription price for KeyHunter's Core Collector Features for as long as KeyHunter continues to operate and offer those Core Collector Features, subject to reasonable-use, anti-abuse and technical limits. Core Collector Features means the ordinary consumer collection-management functionality of KeyHunter.
- The benefit does not cover every possible future product. Things that may be offered separately and charged for include unusually high AI usage or optional scan overages, premium third-party market-data products, marketplace transaction services, dealer/business/enterprise features, physical products, paid third-party services, and other optional products with material pass-through costs.
- KeyHunter will not retroactively charge Founding Collectors for ordinary Core Collector Features promised as part of the Founding Collector program.
- Founding Collector status does not grant equity, stock, company ownership, voting rights, management rights, partnership, employment, investment rights or profit sharing. The term used is “Founding Collector” — not founder, co-founder, investor or owner.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change. Each version carries a version identifier, and the version you accepted is recorded with your account. For material changes, KeyHunter may require you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the service.
